  • AALJ Membership with Dues Withholding

    AALJ dues are currently $18.95 per pay period, and can be paid through dues withholding. Dues withholding is the preferred method of paying your dues as a member of the Association, since it is administratively the most efficient.

    NOTE: Be sure to send BOTH forms: The membership application AND the dues withholding form.

  • AALJ Membership with Payment by Check

    If you do not elect to pay through dues withholding, enclose a check for $492.70 to your application to cover one year of membership, and this annual amount is subject to change if a new dues rate is implemented within the year.

HOME ADDRESS: Federal labor laws require that certain mailings (such as election ballots) be sent to a member's home address. We have a home address database and it is necessary that you completely fill out the application form.

ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP: HOCALJs are eligible for Associate Membership in AALJ with dues set in the same amount as for active AALJ membership. ALJs of other agencies which do not have an IFPTE/AALJ bargaining unit are eligible for Associate Membership with dues set in the same amount as for active AALJ membership. Any Administrative Law Judge who is not eligible for active membership under Article II, Section 1 of the Constitution because he or she occupies a management or supervisory position under Section 2, is eligible for Associate membership with dues set in the same amount as for active AALJ membership. In addition to other restrictions on associate membership, Associate Members shall not be granted access to the AALJ website, except under conditions promulgated by the AALJ National Executive Board.

RETIREE MEMBERSHIP: Retired ALJs are also eligible for Associate Membership in the AALJ with dues of $50 per year. Retired ALJs should use the Membership Application Form - Dues by Check, check the Retiree box, and mail the form with the dues check for $50 to the AALJ Secretary.

VOLUNTARY POLITICAL ACTION FUND: As a bargaining unit under IFPTE we can participate under a Political Action Fund registered to the International but controlled locally by AALJ. The IFPTE will be contacting you regarding contributions to this fund.
